Skytrax rates Singapore Airlines as a 5* airline (one of only 7 in the world) and SQ has been in the Top 3 of the World Airline Awards for each of the last 7 years.

The Experience:  All those awards are well deserved – Singapore Airlines offers one of the best experiences you can find in the Singapore Airlines Suites Classair! Whether you are flying Economy, Business or First Class, you are likely to have a better time on SQ than most other airlines with great hard products and consistently outstanding service! The lounges are also amazing, especially the famous First Class Lounge – The Private Room!

The experience differs significantly when flying the short-haul, full-service subsidiary, Silk Air (read my Snapshot Silk Air for more). Fortunately, in a few years the experience will be standardized and Silk Air will be folded into Singapore Airlines.

While SQ is a member of StarAlliance, it’s KrisFlyer rewards program gives its members preferred access to those coveted seats! What makes it even more interesting is SQ’s relationship with credit card companies, allowing even members outside Singapore to transfer points into the program to top up their accounts. And as a miles-based program, you could even earn more miles on United flights than in United’s own MileagePlus program! You can also earn KrisFlyer miles with the budget subsidiary Scoot Air and redeem for discounted tickets during Spontaneous Escapes!
