Nha Trang in South Central Vietnam is blessed with endless beaches. You can walk for miles along the boardwalk or sandy shore and enjoy the view out over the warm see. Not a bad place to relax.

I love long walks on the beach, looking out over the ocean to the horizon, it has something relaxing and calming for me. And one of the longest beaches I’ve found is on the coast of Central Vietnam, from Da Nang in the North to Hoi An in the South with over 30km of white sand beach. Some are quiet, some are busy, so there should be a stretch of sand right for everybody!
Hoi An is my favorite city in Vietnam – it’s a beautiful, small town situated on the river with a lovely old town that invites you to hang out, read a book over coffee or wander among the stores. You can explore the rice fields around the town or head to the beach by bike. And some of the most … Continue reading
Siargao Beach, Philippines
Siargao is my new favorite island in the Philippines – it offers the best surfing in the country, beautiful beaches, lush green lagoons and a vibe that’s much more relaxed than popular Boracay or Palawan. And on top, the weather is opposite to most other beaches in South East Asia, with the dry season during the Northern summer vacation months – perfect for a getaway from the rainy season elsewhere! And the Isla Cabana Siargao is a great place to enjoy that getaway!
Nusa Dua Beach
Bali is one of my favorite islands and has fantastic beaches that invite to long walks, surfing and swimming. But the most popular beaches can get crowded. If you are looking for a family resort vacation without the crowds, consider the resort area of Nusa Dua. A number of high-end resorts stretch along the beach, giving you lots of choices without the crowds you’ll find in Kuta or Legian!
Check out my Guide to the Best Beaches of Bali to find the one that’s right for you!
Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo, isn’t high on many people’s travel list, but it’s a very relaxing town with nice vibes. While most come for the amazing wildlife, a walk along the river promenade and drinks with a nice view as the sun sets over the river is a great way to end your adventurous day in Borneo.
Check out my Destination Guide Kuching to plan your own trip of Nature Exploration, Wildlife Adventure and relaxing city getaway!
Swissotel Patong Rooftop
If you want to mix your beach getaway with a good party, Thailand’s Phuket is a popular destination and Patong is the undisputed party beach. You can party all night and relax by the beach all day – or just hang out at the hotel pool, if you can’t be bothered to go ALL THE WAY to the beach. And the Swissotel Patong has a very stylish rooftop pool & lounge area!
Ruegen is not only the largest German island, it’s also one of the oldest and today most popular beach destination in Germany. It’s history has protected it from the overdevelopment you find in many other European holiday destinations, resulting in a charming feel of yesteryear with treelined roads criss-crossing the island, little white villas as guest houses and mile-long beaches … Continue reading
Chiang Mai, Thailand’s second largest city, is called the “Rose of the North”. From it’s time as the capital of the Kingdom of Lanna, Chiang Mai has retained some of its historic city walls, gates and the moat, giving it an old town feel you rarely find in Asia. The surrounding mountains provide a beautiful landscape and a slightly cooler climate … Continue reading
