Borneo is known for its nature and wildlife, but it also has some very nice beaches to relax on. A popular destination for soft sand and warm seas is Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park off the cost of Kota Kinabalu! It’s National Park Status protects it from over development, but not from big crowds, so make sure to go for a nice walk on the islands to find your own private beach!

Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is an underrated city: In addition to the fantastic architecture and history, the tasty food and great night life, you also can easily escape the city for some relaxing time on the beach in the beautiful town of Cascais. If you only have time for one day on the beach, make it Cascais the trendier neighbor of Estoril!
I love sunsets anywhere, but they are magical on Bali. There is something about strolling along the beach at sunset, waves crashing onto the shore, lost in though…
Cambodia is popular among backpackers for its remote beaches – but it’s quickly offering much more. If you are traveling as a familiar or couple and want to be pampered in a resort without ever having to leave for food, entertainment, beach or massages, The Sokha Resort on (almost) private Sokha Beach is a good choice – find out more about Cambodia’s Best Beaches!
Sunset on Otres Beach
I admit it, I’m a sucker for sunsets. There is just nothing as peaceful and relaxing for me as the sun setting over the ocean, watching it with my toes in the warm sand and (ideally) a cocktail in my hand! Otres Beach is a great place to do that and to do it without paying a fortune. It offers great beach, clear water and beautiful sunsets at bargain prices – what’s not to like?

Kampot in Southern Cambodia is one of these towns that’s a much better experience than what you expect based on descriptions. It doesn’t have many man-made or natural sights to ah and oh about, yet the riverside setting and the relaxed vibe of the town will make you wish to stay longer than you had planned. It’s a place that’s … Continue reading
Long Set Lagoon
Long Set Beach on Koh Rong is my favorite beach in Cambodia. It’s secluded enough to pretend you are all alone in a tropical paradise, yet well maintained with pristine white sand. And the natural beauty is all around – just behind the beach is a lagoon, with the tropical forest shining in the mirror-like surface!

If you are looking for an unspoiled tropical paradise beach, without hordes of backpackers or plastic trash washed up on the shore, Long Set Beach on Koh Rong is your best bet. With few hotels, few visitors and a well maintained stretch of white sand, it’s as nice a beach as I’ve found in Cambodia.

Cambodia’s Beaches are the latest, hottest trend for beaches in South East Asia and they are promised to be remote, uncrowded with white sand and warm waters – a tropical paradise. And indeed, you can still find a Robinson Crusoe paradise in Cambodia on Long Set Beach or Otres Beach – but not all beaches are created equal and some … Continue reading
