Conde Nast has published the results of their annual Readers Choice Awards, conducted with the votes of more than 600,000 readers. 50 of the best spa hotels and resorts around the world have been ranked as the best of the best. And while one can certainly argue about which one is truly the best, the list makes for a amazing read, envisioning a relaxing retreat to days of pampering! If that’s not a great read for a quiet, winter day, I don’t know what. Find the best spa hotel for your dream getaway below!
If 2019 hasn’t been as kind to you as you hoped for 12 months ago, maybe planning a getaway to a luxurious hotel far away from the daily grind, with nothing on the agenda then sleeping, massages, treatments and delicious food is in order.
For that, the Conde Nast “Readers Choice Awards” of the travel magazine’s readers is a good source of inspiration. It names 50 of the best (or the best?) wellness hotels all around the world and I’m sure there is at least one that might peak your interest and is in a location that fits your travel plans. Here are some of the top-ranked properties this year:
Number 1 is Ananda in the Himalayas – it doesn’t get much more removed from the daily grind as this. The resort offers a blend of Eastern and Western methods of healing, with Ayurvedic or aromatherapy treatments! You’ll be about as close to heaven as you can be on Earth.
Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, is one of my favorite cities in Europe and the Algarve is just a short train ride away. The Vila Vita Parc earns 3rd rank and focuses on skin treatments, facials and body toning. If you want to take a more active approach, personal trainers are also available to help you!
Nothing says luxury hotel as much as “Palace” in the name. Schloss Elmau, South of Munich, Germany, certainly has the location and the views to help you relax. Yoga retreats and classical music can make it even better.
