Best Budget Hotel Rewards Promotions October 2017

The US budget chains usually don’t get a lot of love on the travel blogs, but Wyndham, Best Western and Choice are all running reward program promotion to earn lots of points, get discounted award stays or buy points with big bonuses! Find our how you can make the most out of your hotel award points with these chains!

Wyndham Rewards is the most-rewarding hotel program and they are still running their promotion in cooperation with MasterCard – you can earn 7,500 bonus points per stay until October 31st, 2017. You only have to stay one night and can earn it twice, for a total of 15,000 points. I stayed at two local hotels for less than the bonus points are worth and the points have posted without issues. Find out all the details here!

Best Western Rewards is running a promotion in North America, offering a free night at any of their hotels for only 10,000 points (worth approx. $60) between November 1st, 2017 and January 31st, 2018. I checked it out and even expensive hotels in California with rates over $200/night qualify and show availability. That’s amazing value and I wish I had a visit in California coming up! You also earn double points on any paid nights. You can register and book here!

Choice Hotels, the other big US budget chain, is currently offering a “mystery bonus” of 30-50% when purchasing points in the Choice Privileges program. You can purchase from 5,000 +1,500 points ($55) up to 50,0000 + 15,000 bonus points for $550 at a 30% bonus. That’s about 8.5 cents/point. At a bonus of 50% the price drops to 7.3 cents/point – in either case more than what I value Choice Privilege points at. Also keep in mind that as a regular member, you can only book awards 30 days in advance, which is difficult to do. You have to be a member and can find your bonus here! My bonus is 30% and I really don’t understand these “mystery” promotions, as they’ll probably annoy anybody not getting the best offer, essentially “loosing out”…
There is a very valuable promotion that allows you to transfer Choice Points to United Mileage Plus at a ratio of 5,000 Choice Points to 3,250 United points – a great transfer that I took advantage off and that could make this point purchase more interesting!
