topbonus Loyalty on a roll – earn up to 2,000 miles with bmi regional flights

Looks like topbonus Loyalty, the rewards program of defunct airberlin, is on a roll! After adding Germania Airlines as a partner to earn miles, it is now adding bmi regional as well, giving you a chance to earn up to 2,000 miles per flight with the UK based airline! After expecting the certain death of the program, this is an exciting revival of the loyalty program!

bmi regional became an independent airline in 2012 when former parent airline bmi was purchased by IAG (British Airways). It is currently operating a fleet of 20 Embraer Regional Jets to 46 destinations in 11 European countries:

Similar to Germania, bmi regional offers more than just a seat, with free snacks & drinks onboard, as well as check-in luggage included. All that makes it a significant addition to the topbonus loyalty program, allowing you to earn points on flights that previously didn’t offer a chance to earn miles!

You will earn up to 2,000 miles per flight (or 4,000) round-trip – that’s a generous earn rate considering how short these flights are!
It’s unclear, if you’ll also be able to redeem flights on bmi regional in the future, but I’d expect so. I will continue to follow the developments of topbonus and will keep you posted!
