Thai Airways has World’s Best Economy Class – SkyTrax 2018 Awards

Thai Airways was awarded the SkyTrax award for the world’s best economy class, winning the title again after scoring first place in 2017 as well! They win with the best economy class catering, the third-best seat and great service. Second place goes to Singapore Airlines, with Qatar Airways, Emirates and ANA All Nippon Air rounding out the Top 5! Find out who else made the Top 10, where to get the best food and most comfortable seats in Economy Class!

I recently reported that Singapore Airlines won the award as the World’s Best Airline and much of that is owed to the fantastic First and Business Class cabins. While many people get excited about luxury travel, most travelers spend their time in Economy Class with a lot less space, no lie-flat beds or fancy champagne. And the SkyTrax awards show that you can also have a great travel experience in Economy Class with significant differences between Airlines.

Thai Airways offers great food in Economy Class, especially on longer flights, and also win First Price for the best economy class catering. Thai Airways also still has comfortable seats with reasonable legroom and a good entertainment system. And of course the Thai Smile of the flight crew is just as friendly in Economy Class as in First Class!

Thai Airways B777-300 Economy Cabin

Singapore Airlines wins second place with their great Economy Class product. They also win second place for their seats and catering and I love the service onboard Singapore Airlines, no matter what cabin I’m in!

The Top 10 Economy Class offerings are made up by Asian airilnes, with the exception of Lufthansa in position 9. No American carriers are found anywhere in the Top 20, to no ones surprise!
