NowLive: InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is running regular PointBreaks promotions for their Rewards Club loyalty program. You can book award stays at select hotels at reduced rates of 5,000, 10,000 or 15,000 points per night. Sometimes, that is a huge discount not only on the award rate, but also when compared to cash rates. This quarter, the list contains 162 hotels, a lot more than last quarter. Find the hotels available and the best deals among them below.
The most recent promotion runs from May 28, 2019 through August 31, 2019 and hotels are available to book now. You’ll find only 16 hotels for 5,000 points/night, 101 hotels for 10,000p/night and 45 hotels for 15,000p/night, a pretty good selection.
One of the more interesting hotels is the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, available for 15,000 points (instead of the regular 30,000 points). It’s a good location near the iconic Petronas Towers KLCC. Typical rates this quarter are under $100, so the PointBreaks promotion gives you approx. 20% discount over a cash rate. It’s not the best time to visit Kuala Lumpur, but it’s always a good place to stop over on a trip to South East Asia!
I just spent a few days in Porto, Portugal, and it’s certainly a city worth visiting, for the sights, the food and the wine! The Crowne Plaza Porto is available for only 10,000 points/night (regular 30,000) and it’s a bargain considering cash rates of over $150/night in the busy summer season! I would have snatched this deal up in a heart beat, had the schedule worked out!
Among the hotels available for 5,000 points/night, the Holiday Inn Montevideo, Uruguay, is interesting. It’s located right in the heart of the old town, steps from the Independence Square. Cash rates in the promotion period are only around $60/night, but that’s still more than half off at 5,000 points (worth $25) and only a third of the regular 15,000 points/night! Montevideo is just a short ferry ride from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a great side trip!
It’I’d expect these hotels to go quickly, so I’d recommend to check the full PointBreaks list of hotels now, hotels are available to book!
As always, you can only make two reservations per hotel, so some people don’t block the whole PointBreaks inventory without having set travel plans. Make sure to check the cancellation period at each hotel before booking, so you don’t have any surprises.
Good luck and I hope you find some bargains for your travel plans.
