The US Travel Association is going into the fourth week of their annual Daily Getaway sale today, June 3, 2019. The last deals are far from the least – this week offers reward points from Hyatt and Hilton, giving you a chance at discounted hotel stays worth checking out in detail below!
The US Travel Association works with travel providers each year to bring deals on hotels, rental cars, amusement parks and more in time for the summer travel season. In past years, it has been a great occasion to stock up on points or vouchers to make your next trips a little cheaper. There are different deals each week – some are so good, they sell out in minutes, other are less interesting and will be available through the end of the sales period. Here is the schedule of daily deals for the first week from today, Monday May 27 to Friday, May 31, 2019:
The Hyatt rewards points on sale are considered on of the best deals of the Daily Getaway each year and I expect them to sell out in seconds (again). If you are lucky, you can purchase point packages from 24,000 to 72,000 points for just over a penny each. I value World of Hyatt points at 1.5 cents/point giving you a great discount and making this a fantastic deal. You’ll have to hover over your keyboard at 1pm Eastern sharp to have a shot at this! I’m traveling and won’t have a chance to try for this.
On Tuesday, Hilton Honors points are on sale. You can purchase packages of 30,000, 100,000 and 250,000 points at a price of 0.5 cents/point. That’s how I value Hilton Honors points and they are frequently available at this price (although I haven’t seen them on sale for less).
So, this is not a GREAT deal, but if you have plans to stay at a Hilton Hotel during busy dates this might still offer a good discount. Hilton Honors is one of the most “revenue based” rewards programs with most reward bookings hovering right around 0.5 cents/point value, so I’d only recommend to purchase points if you have a booking in mind that would offer a significant discount by purchasing points over a direct cash booking!
The Hilton Kota Kinabalu with it’s beautiful lounge was one of my best, recent value redemptions.
