The Bayleaf Intramuros offers a perfect location to see Manila’s Spanish colonial history in the old town on a stopover in the Philippine’s capital city. You can walk the city walls, visit Fort Santiago and see beautiful churches, without having to fight Manila’s horrendous traffic. If you have followed my blog, you already know that I love sunsets. And Anilao, South of the Philippine’s capital Manila, is not only a great and inexpensive place to dive, it also guarantees you beautiful sunsets every evening. I can’t remember a single visit where we didn’t have a sunset as beautiful as in this photo. Add an outrigger (banka) boat on the water and a cocktail in hand and you have a great way to end a day in Anilao!

One reason I like to stay on Hong Kong Island when visiting the city are the great, little restaurants you’ll find in Central, Wen Chai or Sheung Wan. And Les Fils a Maman is a great example: It’s a funky French restaurant in a quiet alley with a view of a park, friendly service and great food. It’s a little … Continue reading
The Novotel Century Hong Kong in Wan Chai on Hong Kong island is an older property with small, well maintained but dated rooms. You get access to a large pool and gym and have a restaurant, bar and lounge on site. The service is very friendly. The location is not great but central enough. If you don’t mind the location … Continue reading

According to local paper “Inquirer” this is part of the “ongoing effort to improve on time performance and reduce inconvenience” for the low-cost carrier’s passengers. While this might cause inconvenience for passengers affected, I think it’s actually a step into … Continue reading
Nusa Dua Beach
Bali is one of my favorite islands and has fantastic beaches that invite to long walks, surfing and swimming. But the most popular beaches can get crowded. If you are looking for a family resort vacation without the crowds, consider the resort area of Nusa Dua. A number of high-end resorts stretch along the beach, giving you lots of choices without the crowds you’ll find in Kuta or Legian!

Jet Airways has ceased all operations, leaving thousands of travelers stranded around the world. Jet Airways was in negotiations with lenders to rescue the struggling airline, but wasn’t able to get financing to continue operations and had to shut down. While those negotiations are continuing, the likelihood of rescue is getting smaller by the day, as airports re-assign valuable landing … Continue reading
Singapore continues to improve upon itself. The laser light show at Marina Bay Sands has been one of my favorite evening events to watch and it has now been taken to a much higher level with the revamped light and water fountain show in front of the Marina Bay Sands Mall. You get a fantastic view of the Singapore Skyline by night and the well choreographed show of water fountains, lights and music is very impressive and should be high on your list of things to see in Singapore.
