Review Novotel Nha Trang: Beach location, great service and elite treatment make for wonderful stay!

The Novotel Nha Trang has a prime location in the heart of Nha Trang, right on the mile long, sandy beach. It’s an older property, but rooms are well maintained and in good condition and room prices offer great value. The customer service and Accor LeClub elite treatment was excellent, making the Novotel Nha Trang an easy recommendation for your stay. Check out my detailed review and photos below!Location: The Novotel Nha Trang sits in the center of town right on the beach with fantastic views and plenty of restaurants, shops and services in easy walking distance.
The beach is located just across the street with a nice park and a boardwalk going up and down the beach for miles.

The streets parallel to the beach, behind the hotel, have any number of stalls, stores, massage shops and restaurants of all kinds and budgets, so you won’t run out of choices even on a longer stay.
Cam Ranh International Airport is 35km to the South of Nha Trang and a 45 minute taxi ride or 1h+ by bus. The airport bus drops off just a block from the hotel, making it an inexpensive option, if you don’t have a lot of luggage.

Service: I received a warm welcome at the front desk and the staff processed the paperwork quickly. I received all the necessary information about the hotel, amenities and the surrounding area. The front desk manager took the time to introduce himself to me as an Accor LeClub Platinum member and  offered his support in case I had any issues – for me that’s a sign of great customer service and a rare occurrence.
Housekeeping cleaned my room each day thoroughly and replaced towels and amenities as appropriate. They did so quickly when I requested it. All equipment was in good working order.

Restaurant staff was also on top of their task and kept the breakfast buffet stocked and tables cleared even during busy periods.
While service is generally good in South East Asia, the staff at the Novotel Nha Trang really, really, really wants you to have a good time. When I handed back an unsued drink voucher I received as an Accor LeClub Platinum benefit, she offered to have a drink at the bar before I leave, but I also declined. When she found out that I’d stay at the ibis styles Nha Trang a block away, I thought I’d make her cry! She insisted that they’ll give me a courtesy ride over to the ibis and they’d call ahead to make the management aware of my arrival. This is one of these above & beyond service experiences that few hotels manage to pull off.
The service at the Novotel Nha Trang was much better than I expect from a hotel in this category and would put many 5-star hotels in the region to shame.

Room: I was upgraded to an Executive Room on the top floor, facing the ocean. It’s a slightly larger room with very high ceilings, allowing for a sunken living area and a large balcony with stunning beach and ocean views. The furniture and decor is an older Novotel style, but was in good condition.

The king size bed is at the center of the room with a padded headboard, two night stands with power outlets and comfortable, high end sheets, pillows and comforter.

A few steps lead down to a sitting area by the window, with a padded chair and couch table on one side and a cabinet with fridge and coffee, tea facilities on the other.

There is a pod coffee maker (yes!), a nice feature that is becoming more common in Europe and Asia in high-end hotels. There are also some snacks and a squeaky duck for your bathing pleasure (or your kids). The closet holds a bathrobe and a laptop size safe.

The room has floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall windows leading out to the balcony and offering great ocean views. You can look up and down the beach to both sides for miles.

The bathroom is a little unusual. The vanity has a large mirror, sink-in-countertop with lots of space and a window (with privacy screen) to the bedroom, making it bright and open. The toilet is in the corner with a solid wall for privacy. The shower is installed in a sunken, shallow area that looks more like a small pool than a tub. It’s large enough for two or a few kids to play…

The hotel provides a full set of standard Novotel bathroom amenities and the towels and bathrobe were thick and plush.

The free WiFi internet in the room was very reliable and consistently fast at an average speed of 14.4Mbps, making it good for watching movies or video calls.. Uploads were as fast, but a little less consistent, still great to get some work done.

Restaurant & Amenities: The Novotel has its own “beach club” with loungers, umbrellas and staff on the beach across the street. The city limits the number of chairs, so you want to check before you go. I was able to get one and they were clean and comfortable. The miles of sandy beach, promenade and shady greens behind it are open to all.

The hotel gym is large and well equipped, enabling you to keep up with your weight and cardio workout.

The pool is to the back of the property and has a deeper swimming pool and shallow kiddie pool.

There are a number of padded loungers along the wall that do have a view of the ocean.

The Novotel Nha Trang offers a full-service restaurant, room service and also has a nice lobby bar.

The restaurant serves a buffet breakfast with a large selection of fresh fruit, breads and pastries, coffee, tea and juices as well as a large variety of hot Asian and Western dishes. There is also a make-to-order egg station. The selection and quality of breakfast items was comparable to other upscale hotels in Asia – which means it’s very good!

As a very nice touch, the Novotel Nha Trang allows you to order your (complimentary for Accor LeClub Platinum members) breakfast to your room at no charge. I took advantage of it one morning and had a sumptuous breakfast with marvelous views – that’s just hard to beat!

Value & Rewards: I booked the Novotel Nha Trang at a rate of only $73/night including the breakfast – I consider that very good value for what’s on offer. You can find the current rates here.

As an Accor LeClub Platinum member, I  earned a rewards rate of 8.7%. Because of an Accor Promotion, I earned 2,500 bonus points for the stay, worth $56, making this a very inexpensive stay for me!
As Platinum benefits, I was welcomed by the front desk manager in person, received an upgrade to an Executive Room, received free breakfast at the restaurant and via room service, as well as drink vouchers for the bar. The Novotel Nha Trang also delivered a large welcome amenity with a local touch and a personal note that went well beyond the typical fruit plate. In a funny and heartwarming episode, I also received a courtesy ride to my next hotel in lieu of the unused drink coupons. Overall, the Novotel Nha Trang went well beyond the benefits promised at the LeClub Platinum level – the elite treatment was exceptional, making this a great property for LeClub elite members.

Bottomline: The Novotel Nha Trang has a prime location in the heart of Nha Trang and right on the beautiful beach with stunning views. It’s an older property, but rooms are well maintained and in good condition. The customer service and Accor LeClub elite treatment was excellent and was well above expectations. I recommend the Novotel Nha Trang for your stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again myself!
