Cambodia and its capital Phnom Penh have a turbulent history. A good place to learn a little about the earlier eras is the National Museum – it houses artifacts of more than 2,000 years of Khmer history and is worth a visit!

Poznan in Western Poland had a turbulent history. It’s old town has been beautifully restored and the city has developed well since the fall of the iron curtain. It’s a great destination for a weekend getaway, to enjoy the history and lively bars and restaurants in the old town!

The Gardens by the Bay are one of my favorite places to visit in Singapore. With the two stunning domes, creating unique environments, the lush gardens and the unique SuperTrees, it offers natural beauty and a feat of engineering at the same time.

Kota Kinabalu is the gateway to the untouched nature and wildlife of Northern Borneo. And while the trips to the Orang Utan rehabilitation center, the remote Danum Valley or Mount Kinabalu are all high on my list of recommendations, the city itself has a lot to offer: with a good museum, sandy beaches and island hopping tours, you can easily fill your days. And the views along the city’s waterfront are stunning anytime of day!

Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, in Southern Borneo is a city with character. And the best way to experience it is with a stroll at sunset along the riverfront promenade. Families, friends and lovers will all be out, enjoying the cooler evening hours and the great views, enjoying some tasty streetfoot or a quiet conversation. So, join them for a nice evening in the prettiest spot of Kuching!
