If you are looking for good cocktails at a bargain price and some tasty bar food with it, don’t look any further than Spicy Fingers at Greenbelt in Makati! With cocktails for 60 Pesos ($1.20) until 8pm every day and pages and pages of snacks and full meals to go with it, all served in a garden setting, this is hard to pass up!
Greenbelt (together with Glorietta) in Makati is one of the largest mall complexes in Manila, with hundreds of stores and restaurants, museums and movies. If all that walking around is leaving you hungry or thirsty, Spicy Fingers is a good place to go! It’s located in Greenbelt 3 and offers indoor seating with air conditioning as well as outdoor seating with a choice of bar, high tables and regular tables and booths. The outdoor seating is covered, has a lovely view of the garden and fans to keep you reasonably cool most of the year.
They offer multiple specials, starting with a long list of dishes for lunch at P120 – which beats many fast food places, while offering better food and ambiance. After lunch, the longest happy hour in town starts and goes all the way till 8pm, with a choice of beer and cocktails for 60P – my pick of poison is the margarita! The cocktails are good – and a bargain at this price. If you are looking for artfully crafted, inventive cocktails – you are in the wrong place: Check out Hooch instead!
If you are looking for food to go with those cocktails, Spicy Fingers has a very long menu of dishes, from local favorites to all kinds of Western dishes. Similar to the cocktails, the food is good, but won’t earn any Michelin stars anytime soon. My favorites are the Roti Canai (chicken skewers, roti bread and dip), mini burgers, ham & cheese spring rolls (really!) and, on healthy days, their Caesar salad.
They have full meals as well, if you want more than nibbles to share. If you are bored by the garden views, you can face the walk way – it’s part of the mall and makes for great people watching – or you can go inside and listen to the live music later at night, at least on weekends. It’s fun and a little bit of a guilty pleasure – enjoy!
