Stylish hotel in central location at a bargain price – NH Buenos Aires Latino

On my long awaited return trip to Buenos Aires, the Argentinian capital, I wanted to stay at one of the NH hotels, just like on my first trip, and I picked the NH Latino for its great location and affordable price! It turned out to be a great fit for what I wanted – continue reading to find out what I liked!

BUE NH Latino MapLocation: The NH Latino is located in the heart of Buenos Aires, near the Obelisco and the central Ave 9 de Julio. It’s a 10 minute walk to the Plaza de Mayo with the cathedral and presidential palace. There are plenty of shops and restaurants all around the neighborhood and you are just steps from two subway stations, giving it easy access to anywhere in Buenos Aires. Jorge Newbury Airport for domestic and regional flights is only 15 minutes away and Ezeiza International Airport is about 45 minutes by taxi.

Service: My check in at the NH Latino was quick and professional. The agent was friendly and fluent in English – better than most I met in Uruguay or Argentina on this trip on both counts. Housekeeping was thorough and invisible throughout my stay, cleaning the room quickly each day. The check-out was equally professional and they called a taxi for me in no time.

BUE NH Latino - 4Room: I really enjoyed the design of NH hotels I stayed at previously and I loved this one as well – simple and stylish. The room had gorgeous red-brown hardwood floors, white furniture, and a light-grey headboard for the bed, giving it a modern and elegant look. My room was large, with plenty of space for a large closet, a chair and table as a sitting area and a large work desk as well as a bench for luggage. The king-size bed was very comfortable with high-quality sheets. There is a large safe in the closet, big enough for laptop and camera, but no coffee/tea facilities are available. NH hotels is rolling out Nespresso machines – I hope they come to the NH Latino as well! BUE NH Latino - 5The bathroom was also large, but not as stylish. It’s held in beige-brown marble with white sink, toilet, bidet and shower-over tub. The tub had a partial glass enclosure that worked well to keep the room from flooding. The towels and bathroom amenities provided were good. BUE NH Latino Bath cThe free wifi was reliable and fast at 14.5 Mbps average speed! One nice feature was a universal power strip for electrical plugs from around the world, keeping you charged in case you forget your adapter. The room was quiet, despite facing the street.BUE NH Latino - 6

Restaurant/Amenities: The NH Latino has a good-size gym with cardio and weight machines, allowing for a good workout. The fitness room has a great view through floor-to-ceiling windows, making the cardio workout a little nicer, but also the room very hot in the bright sun! If that’s not hot enough, there is a sauna available as well!
BUE NH Latino - 7The hotel has a restaurant and bar, but I did not try it out and preferred to go to the countless restaurants in the city center for my meals.
A computer and printer are available in the lobby to print boarding passes or tickets.

Conclusion: For only $70, you get an elegant room in a central location with friendly service and access to a gym and sauna- that’s great value. I really enjoyed my stay, would come back in a heartbeat and recommend it. If the location works for you, there is little reason to pay more for a room in Buenos Aires.
