Review ibis styles Nha Trang: Fantastic, upscale experience at budget prices

The ibis style is a new hotel in Nha Trang, Vietnam, offering an upscale beach hotel experience at bargain prices. You get modern rooms, a good breakfast, nice pool & gym and fantastic service – all at prices that don’t even get you a parking spot for the night in some places. If you only know ibis hotels from Europe, check out my full review and photos – and be surprised! As an Accor LeClub Platinum member, I stayed in a beautiful suite with ocean views and felt pampered!

Location: The ibis styles Nha Trang is located in the heart of Nha Trang, just one block off the beach. While the ibis styles is not ocean front, some high-floor rooms (like mine) do have an oceanview. The beach has a nice park with trees between the street and the sand, as well as a boardwalk to stroll for miles along the coast. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and services in easy walking distance.

The streets parallel to the beach around the hotel, have any number of stalls, stores, massage shops and restaurants of all kinds and budgets, so you won’t run out of choices even on a longer stay.
Cam Ranh International Airport is 35km to the South of Nha Trang and a 45 minute taxi ride or 1h+ by bus. The airport bus drops off just across from the hotel, making it an inexpensive option, if you don’t have a lot of luggage.

Service: Staff at the ibis styles Nha Trang was fantastic throughout. That started with the warm welcome by the front desk. They checked me in quickly, recognized my Accor LeClub Platinum status and explained all the features of the hotel and my elite benefits to me. The front desk manager introduced himself and offered his assistance in case of any issues – that’s always a great sign of customer service to me and fairly rare in my experience, at least for first-time visits.
Housekeeping was also on top of their task and cleaned my room spotlessly each day, refilling amenities and replacing towels as appropriate.
The restaurant staff was just as friendly, although they struggled with the onslaught of guests during the busiest time at breakfast, having a hard time to keep the buffet stocked.

Room: I had booked a standard room and as an Accor LeClub Platinum member was upgraded to a suite on a high floor. It was the nicest room I’ve ever seen at any ibis, anywhere and deserving of the 4-star rating of the ibis styles Nha Trang.
You enter through the living room. It has a sofa and couch table at the center, with additional ottomans to sit. I liked the hardwood floor look tiles, especially at a beach destination. The artwork added a stylish touch to the room.

ibis styles Nha Trang Suite

There are a wall mounted TV and side table. By the window, there is another sofa with sidetable that converts to a bed, if needed.

Near the door is a closet, including a laptop size safe, iron & iron board and a luggage bench. Next to it, you’ll find a mini-fridge as well as coffee & tea facilities, including a pod coffee maker – someting many much more expensive hotels don’t even offer!

The living room has a half-bath with toilet and sink, making this suite great for entertaining – your guests won’t have to enter the bedroom and master bathroom.

The bedroom has a king-size bed with comfortable sheets, pillows and comforter. The padded headboard is comfortable for lounging on the bed. There is a small desk with chair in the corner, in case you need to get some work done.

There are two small side tables and plenty of universal outlets and USB ports next to your bed. I like that feature, as it allows me to charge my phone while reading the news or checking email in bed!
Next to the bed is a large closet, including slippers and bathrobes.

There is another TV mounted opposite the bed and you’ll have another sofabed by the window. This makes the suite useful for families, accommodating up to four people!

The master bathroom is very large. It has a toilet and glass-enclosed shower on one side. The shower features a handheld, wall mounted shower head, as well as a rainfall shower head. In the center is a vessel-style sink mounted on a countertop with plenty of space for your toiletries. On the other side is a deep, well shaped soaking tub for a relaxing bath. There is a full set of (basic) amenities and the towels are of good quality.

The free WiFi internet was reasonably fast at an average 3.5 Mbps, good enough for streaming video or music. The upload speeds were also fast enough to get some work done.

Restaurant & Amenities: The ibis styles Nha Trang has a small kiddie pool as well as a long pool that’s big enough to swim laps or just a refreshing dip.

There are comfortable, padded loungers around the pool and towels are provided. There is a small bar next to it and staff is ready to assist throughout the day.

On the same level is a large gym with a full selection of new, high quality cardio and weight equipment for a full workout. The gym was much better than any other ibis I’ve stayed at and more in line with an upscale hotel.

The restaurant is large and flooded with light (sorry, making pictures more difficult). It has bistro seating as well as some large, communal high tables.

The breakfast is served buffet style with a good selection of fruit, bread, pastries, cold cuts and cheeses. There is also a selection of hot dishes, both Western and Asian as well as a make-to-order egg station. I’d consider the selection very good, although the quality of the food items was just ok.

Value & Rewards: I booked the ibis styles Nha Trang during a promotion on the Accor website at a rate of $45/night as an Accor Plus member, a saving of $13.50. That price is outstanding value for the quality of the hotel and service. You can find the current prices here

As an Accor LeClub Platinum member, I earned 8.7% in rewards. I paid with my Citibank Prestige card, earning an additional 5% off. The promotion earned me 2,500 bonus points, for a total point value of $78, fantastic points value!

The elite treatment was excellent. In addition to the personal welcome by the front office manager, I received a generous upgrade to a suite, a nice welcome amenity and voucher for a welcome drink, including soft drinks, cocktails, wine & beer. The great base price, points promotion and generous elite benefits made this one of my best value hotel stays I have reviewed on this blog.

Bottomline: The ibis styles Nha Trang far exceeded expectations: It’s a brand-new hotel with beautiful rooms, great service and fantastic Accor LeClub elite treatment – I had an upscale experience at bargain prices. This was by far the best ibis property I’ve ever stayed at worldwide and a far cry from the experience you’ll find at other hotels of this brand in Europe!
