Inspiration to travel – free, courtesy of Lonely Planet

You probably just went back to work after the holidays, facing a lot of work at the beginning of the new year, lots of email, meetings to kick of the new year – and there is no vacation anytime soon? Well, how about a little virtual vacation with a guide to some new travel destinations in 2015? During the next snow (or rain) storm you can just curl up on the sofa with a free guide from Lonely Planet describing 26 destinations around the world, worth traveling to.

Lonely Planet is my favorite provider of guide books (review coming soon) and has helped me to travel independently around the world. They every once in a while publish guides that describe the top destinations around the world, the best value destinations, best beaches or similar, common experiences. Recently, Lonely Planet has published a guide to new destinations or attractions in 2015. From the One World Observatory opening this year on top of One World Trade Center in New York City to museums (re-)opening in Paris and Singapore to a 115km bike trail on the Northern Island of New Zealand, opening in March 2015, there are 26 new attractions with something for everybody.

For me, these guide books always make for great armchair-traveling and inspiration for future trips. Your mind can always travel, even if you can’t. And even better, this guide is currently available for a free download right here! Have fun and safe armchair-travels!
