Great happy hour in Bonifacio Global City, Manila – Village Tavern

If you have read this blog for a while, you will have noticed that I enjoy sunsets, sitting outside and happy hours – a lot! And in Manila, I’m not the only one to enjoy happy hour, so there are plenty of places to go. In Bonifacio Global City, there are a few choices and one place we go to frequently is Village Tavern – read my review to find out why!

While we were living in Makati, Spicy Fingers with it P60 happy-hour cocktails was my most frequent destination, but with our move to Bonifacio Global city, we needed a new place near Bonifacio High Street! And Village Tavern is a good option: It is located on High Street between 5th and 7th Avenue, overlooking Central Square. It’s a busy plaza with lots of people walking by or hanging out and plenty of activities like concerts, markets or exhibits being held! That makes for a lively seen and great people watching, especially if I’m out for a bit to eat solo! Village Tavern has outside seating upstairs, overlooking the action below as well as air conditioned seating inside.MNL VillageTavern SaladThey have a large menu of international dishes that are very suitable to share! They reach from healthy salads to burgers, pasta and their special flat breads and pizza. One of our favorite items is the “black pizza” with a great crust and a nice taste to it. Unfortunately, our favorite snack to go with happy hour, the huge, warm pretzel, recently fell of the menu, but I’m lobbying hard to have it added back!

But what would a good happy hour be without some good drink deals? Village Tavern offers a special on cocktails during after-work hours! You can have their well mixed cocktails for under P100. They taste very good and are good value at those prices. There is also a long wine and beer list, if that is more your taste.

The service is friendly, but we had some hick-ups over time. To the team’s credit, they always try to make up for any issues and do their best to see you leave happy! If you live in Manila, you can save a little money by signing up for their membership card – it gives you a 20% discount on their food as well as a number of vouchers to use during the membership year. It only works, if you go a lot, but worth checking out for locals!

We are members and will likely be back for food and drink! Check it out, when you are in Bonifacio Global City!
