TAP Air Portugal is a full service airline that offers attractive pricing for TAP Economy and TAP Business Class flights. Their TAP Miles & Go loyalty program has some attractive features and as part of their 1-year anniversary, they are running a miles sales promotion. You can get 3x the miles you’d normally get for the same purchase price – that’s the highest bonus I’ve seen from any airline loyalty program. Find out below if that’s a good deal or not!
The TAP Miles & Go award mile sale is running through the end of November, 2019 and you can purchase as little as 2,000 miles (receiving 6,000 including the bonus) and as many as 20,000 (receiving 60,000). The bonus and therefor the price per miles is the same – you are paying $87 for 6,000 miles or 1.45 cents/mile. You can see your purchase options below:
A 200% bonus is an attention-grabbing headline, but the final price is a lot less attractive, mostly because the regular price is so outrageously high!
The TAP Miles & Go miles have the most value for short-haul, Economy flights and if you purchase miles at this price, you could buy enough miles for a one-way flight within Europe for only $108.75. If you have a trip in mind, this sale might be a good option to top up your account and get that award.
I would not recommend to buy miles without a specific, high-value redemption in mind.
