Travel Made Easy: All you need to know about EVA Airlines

EVA Airlines was launched in 1989 as the second airline of Taiwan and has since become a 5-star airline known for its good product and service. As a StarAlliance member with good connections from the US or Europe to Asia, they are worth checking out! Find out all you need to know about their destinations, fleet, safety and service rankings, the experience you can expect and their loyalty program, Infinity MileageLands!

Who are they? EVA Airlines (BR) was founded as a private airline in 1989 and today serves 54 destinations in 19 countries with a fleet of 70 planes.
SkyTrax rates EVA Airlines as a 5-star airline and EVA Air has been in the SkyTrax Top 10 consistently since 2015.
AirlineRatings gives EVA Air a perfect 7-out-of-7 star rating for airline safety, same as other premium airlines. They have met all applicable audit requirements and never had a fatal crash.

The Experience: EVA Airlines is a premium, full-service carrier. They offer Economy Class, Premium Economy Class and their Royal Laurel Business Class on their flagship Boeing B777 long-haul airplanes. Lesser Economy and Business cabins are offered on other planes, but you’ll get great service, food and entertainment on all planes and in all classes.

EVA Airlines Economy class offers service that’s better than in some airline’s business class, above average space, personal entertainment systems and good food on their long-haul flights, but their narrow-body Airbus A321 used on shorter routes are a bit more spartan – check out my EVA Air Economy Review for more!

EVA Airlines pioneered Premium Economy and launched the product in 1992. They offer more legroom, more recline, more comfortable seats, bigger video screens and enhanced food and service on their long-haul Boeing B777. It’s a nice upgrade from Economy Class and a great option for day-time flights! Read my review of EVA Air Premium Economy here!

EVA Air’ Business Class has garnered a reputation as one of the best business class products in the sky, with fully-flat beds, direct aisle access and superb service. I am eager to try it out and will post a review here as soon as I get a chance!

EVA Air has a total of four lounges at their hub in Taipei, giving you lots of space and good food to relax before a flight. It’s a solid offering and you can read my review of the EVA Star Lounge Taipei here!

The Rewards: EVA Airlines offers its own rewards and loyalty program, Infinity MileageLands. Asa member of StarAlliance you have access to free flights across all partner airlines. It’s still a distance-based program, offering fair mileage earning and reasonable redemptions, but elite levels are tough to achieve and benefits are limited. Find out more in my Eva Air Infinity MileageLands Review!
