Review: Chocolate Factory Pattaya, Thailand – Good food & service in a beautiful setting

The Chocolate Factory Pattaya in the Phratamnak neighborhood is a great place to have a romantic dinner or celebrate a special occasion: It’s set on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean and facing the sunset. You get good food and service at reasonable prices and have a chance to take home some chocolates for an extra-dessert afterwards. If you are tired of hotel restaurants or noisy local places along busy streets, this is the place to go in Pattaya, Thailand!

You are never more than a few minutes from food anywhere in Pattaya, Thailand. There are countless street food stalls, small restaurants or food courts. Add to that hundreds of hotel restaurants and you have more choices than anybody can try. But there are much fewer places that are memorable and you’ll want to return to. The Chocolate Factory Pattaya Phratamnak is one of them.

The Chocolate Factory is situated on top of a cliff between the beaches of South Pattaya and Jomtien. It’s best to reach them by grab ride hail or your own car and it’ll take about 15 minutes from Central Pattaya or Jomtien to get there (search for Chocolate Factory Pattaya Pratumnak on Google Maps / grab to find the location). They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but my recommendation is the outdoor deck for the fantastic ocean views, especially at sunset!

The Chocolate Factory has a massive menu that should offer something for everybody. There is a long list of Western dishes, including pasta, pizza and lots of seafood and meat dishes, as well as an equally long Thai menu with all the local favorites.
As the name suggests you’ll have a great selection of desserts including, yes, many chocolate flavors as well. And if your sweet tooth is still calling for more after your meal, you can head inside to the chocolate store and take some home.
We were in an Italian mood on our visit and picked the melon & parma ham as an appetizer. The melon was fresh and sweet and the parma ham was excellent, making this a great starter after a hot day!

We continued with pasta and pizza. The salami pizza had thin, crunchy crust, a tasty tomato spread and was covered in good quality salami and some fresh salad leaves on top – delicious.

The pasta was a relatively small portion, but cooked perfectly with a tasty sauce and fresh parmesan cheese on top!

We didn’t save room for dessert and despite my sweet tooth, I was able to avoid buying bag fulls of chocolates. The displays were very tempting and worth checking out.

If you are in Pattaya and are looking for a restaurant for a special occasion or just and all-around good experience, try out the Chocolate Factory Pattaya.
