A great way to make travel better and spend less on it is to leverage reward credit cards. I have reviewed a few cards and one big differentiator is the sign-up bonus banks offer to get you on board. Because earning the bonus usually involves a minimum spend during the first 3 months of opening the account, it’s helpful to sign-up when you can easily meet the requirement without spending money on things you don’t really need! Find the best current sign-up bonuses for travel reward cards after the break!
If you are new to this site, please read “how we evaluate credit cards”. I do not receive any compensation for your sign-up – I’m recommending them because I have or like those cards and think you can get great value out of them!
Wyndham Rewards Visa: Wyndham has been rated the best hotel rewards program and has brought out a number of innovative features recently, like fixed hotel reward redemptions. They have also improved their affiliated credit card and increased the sign-up bonus to 45,000, with 30,000 for signing up and 15,000 more after spending $2,000 in the first three months. With no foreign exchange fee, complimentary Platinum status and an annual bonus of 6,000 points for renewing in exchange for an annual card fee of $75, it’s a good deal. The regular sign-up bonus is only 30,000 points, so it’s a good time to sign up now. Read my full review here!
If you are living in an American Airlines hub, the Citibank AAdvantage Platinum card is a good deal. You can earn 50,000 miles sign-up bonus after spending $3,000 in the first three months. The annual fee of $95 is waived in the first year and there is no foreign exchange fee. This bonus is labeled “temporary”, but I’ve seen it around very frequently. You can read my full review here!
I have not reviewed the Barclaycard Arrival Plus on my blog, but have recommended it to friends. you earn 2 points per USD spent and can apply points at a value of 1cent per point for travel. That offers the best value to buy cheap airline tickets or book non-chain hotels or rental cars. You currently get a sign up bonus of 50,000 points after spending $3,000 in 90 days and the annual fee of $89 is waived for the first year! The bonus is better than the usual 40,000 points and is labeled as “temporary”, but has been around for a few months! You can sign up here!
Each of this cards will earn a sign up bonus of around $500 – that’s a nice contribution to your next vacation – as long as you pay off your bills monthly! Enjoy the savings and travel safely!
