By now you know that I’m a big fan of the Club Carlson hotel rewards program (reviewed here). Between the credit card (review here) giving you a free night with every reward stay and gold status, and the frequent promotions they run, they made me a fan. Of all the promotions available in Q1/2015, their “Extend your Stay” promotion, offering 30,000 bonus points for any three night stay was the best one. I signed up for it and booked a 3-night stay at the Radisson Suites Bangkok (review here). So, how did it turn out?
I booked the three night stay at a price of $260 including all taxes and fees. For that stay, I received a total of 46,126 points, including the 30,000 promotion bonus and a 10,000 “early bird” sign-up bonus. I value Club Carlson points at 0.6 cents US for a total points value of $276.74. So, I basically got a free stay out of this, making this a great promotion win… again…
This is another proof point that Club Carlson is aggressively pursuing the hotel rewards market with their generous credit card and promotion offers. If you plan it carefully, this can be great value and a smart choice. I’m planning to use those points on an upcoming trip to Europe where Club Carlson has lots of mid- and up-scale properties for free nights! Stay tuned, I will continue to bring updates on other hotel promotions available to the public!
