California was my home for close to 20 years and has magnificent natural beauty, from Lake Tahoe to Yosemite or my favorite Road Trip on Highway 1.
One you might have seen in Hollywood movies, but probably not heard much about, is the Mobius Arch in the Alabama Hills, part of the Sierra Nevada in California! You have to earn this sight with a hike in the heat, but it is an impressive view!

Death Valley is one of the hottest places on Earth, with an unbelievable temperature of 134F (56.7C) measured there. Located on the border of Nevada and California in the Western United States of America, it also has the lowest point at 86m below sea level. What makes Etosha National Park so unique is that the wildlife watching is focused on the water holes the animals come to in this very dry park, so you can sit quietly and watch the animals, without having to rush around in a jeep like on other safaris. And it’s especially beautiful and peaceful at sunset – it’s a sight I’ll never forget!
