Borneo is called the “last frontier” and it has the wildlife to prove it! The proboscis monkeys are only found on Borneo. And while they are hard to find, they are easy to identify with the pronounced nose. They love the leaves of certain trees and thanks to our knowledgeable guides, we were able to spot them several times in Bako National Park.

Rafflesia is considered the largest single flower of any plant on Earth, at least by weight, and I took these photos in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo! It takes 6-9 months from the bud in the upper left to flower – and the bloom only lasts 2-3 days, making this a very rare sighting, before it dies in the bottom right!
