Destination Guide Kuching, Borneo, Malaysia

If you want to explore the last frontier and see the wildlife of Borneo, Kuching, the capital of Sarawak in the South of Borneo, is a great base. You can see orang utans, unique proboscis or silver leaf monkeys or explore Borneo’s culture at the traditional longhouses. And it’s easier to do as an independent traveler than most exotic wildlife … Continue reading

Fantastic Foto Friday: Etosha National Park, Namibia

What makes Etosha National Park so unique is that the wildlife watching is focused on the water holes the animals come to in this very dry park, so you can sit quietly and watch the animals, without having to rush around in a jeep like on other safaris. And it’s especially beautiful and peaceful at sunset – it’s a sight I’ll never forget!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Beautyful nature at the end of the world: Sossusvlei, Namibia

Namibia is one of the least populated countries on Earth and the Sossusvlei desert is the most remote region I have ever visited. It’s strikingly beautiful and very much worth the effort! I went as part of my Cape Town to Victoria Falls Adventure and highly recommend the trip!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Wildlife up close & personal!

Bako Snake

Borneo still offers unspoiled nature and wildlife to explore at your own pace. In Bako National Park in Sarawak, Southern Borneo, I got as close to the wildlife as I was comfortable!
Borneo is easier to reach and less expensvie than it sounds and the head hunters are long gone – so check it out, before the crowds arrive!

Need some peace & quiet? Summer getaway to Lake Tahoe!

Lake Tahoe, the beautiful blue lake surrounded by mountains, is one of my favorite getaways in Northern California, ever since I fell in love with San Francisco. And while it is very popular in winter with plenty of ski resorts to enjoy the snow, it’s also a fun summer getaway. You can enjoy the beaches along the lakeshore or go hiking … Continue reading

CapeToVicFalls - 92

The Okavango Delta is a phenomenal experience: The huge river just fizzles out into the desert, leaving behind a stunning landscape and amazing wildlife to explore. I was fortunate to see it from the air – before exploring it in a tiny dugout canoe. I will never forget those sights…
Check out my experience and more photos from the Okavango Delta, as well as my other adventures from Cape Town to Victoria Falls!

364 Bungie Jump01

This is one of the few photos on my blog that has me in it. I still can’t believe I actually jumped over the edge as last activity of the crazy day called Awesome4Some (or Adrenalin4). I politely declined to jump a second time at half price…

If you are looking for a little excitement in your life, you can read my whole experience at the Awesome4Some in Queenstown, New Zealand, the world capital for adrenalin junkies!
