Dream Itinerary Sample

Starting from: Los Angeles / San Francisco / New York
Experience: Citylife, Nature & Wildlife Retreat
Trip Duration: 10 days
Region: Asia
Comfort Level: comfort
Budget for Air fare and Hotels for two people: $1,700-$1,950
You start with economy flights to Kuala Lumpur, a great transportation hub with many inexpensive air fares to reach as well as around Asia. You check into the Aloft Hotel Sentral, with easy access to the airport and public transport around Kuala Lumpur. After exploring the exotic Batu Caves
outside town and the colonial history around Merdaka Square, you are ready for your trip to Kuching, Sarawak, on Borneo: It’s easy to reach and easy on your wallet, but offers amazing wildlife in the national parks all around Kuching. You can reach all of them with public transport or on inexpensive tours and there are lots of eating and shopping options that are just as inexpensive, making Southern Borneo a great low-cost destination that has lots to offer!Kuching offers a number of upscale hotels, like the Hilton Kuching or pullman Kuching at budget prices and you check in for 6 nights to discover all that Sarawak has to offer!!
You start with a walk of Kuching, a city with character, enjoy the promenade along the river and, if you are interested in the history of the city, check out the Sarawak Museum.
Your wildlife exploration starts with the Semenggoh Wildlife Center to see Orang Utans up close and personal. They share more than 97% of our DNA – and you can see quickly yourself as you observe them and they observe you!
Bako National Park is next on your list, reached quickly by bus and boat, yet far removed from city life. With a little luck, you’ll see proboscis monkeys or silver leaf monkeys – or even a snake from a safe distance. After hiking through the park, you’ll get a break on the beach before heading back to Kuching.
You get a slightly different perspective on the local wildlife with a Kuching Wetlands cruise. You have a chance to see rare dolphins, crocodiles, monkeys or, at nightfall, fireflies! It’s very relaxing to see wildlife from the comforts of your boat!
Between all those activities, you’ll enjoy the comforts and amenities of the Hilton hotel, including the pool, fitness center and spa! Depending how much time you want to relax between these wildlife trips, you might have time for a tour to see the indigenous longhouse communities – whole villages of people live and work in a single house – a unique and interesting way of life!
When it is time to head home, you have another two-night stop in Kuala Lumpur and check into the upscale Doubletree Kuala Lumpur, close to the iconic Petronas Towers and plenty of shopping before you fly home!
