Earning miles in an airline program used to be about “butt in seat” miles – actually flying the airline to earn miles. Nowadays, you can earn miles through credit cards, merchants and big bonus offers – or even for free. Find out more about some of the best current airline award promotions from JetBlu, British Airlines, Lufthansa and alitalia below!
JetBlue really wants you to sign up for their TrueBlue rewards program: They are offering new members a bonus of 5,000 miles for signing up and taking their first trip by April 16th, 2017! A oneway flight with no minimum purchase amount is sufficient, making this a very generous offer. If you have travel plans for a route JetBlue is serving, it’s worth checking out their fares. You can sign up and book here!
Not quite as generous, but still very good, is Alitalia‘s offer to earn a 2,000 mile bonus in their MilleMiglia rewards program for your first flight within 3 months of joining. Alitalia partners with Etihad and associated airlines and is also part of SkyTeam, one of the three big alliances that also includes Air France KLM and Delta. They currently also run a 15% promotion with MilleMiglia code 7252568 on flights this summer, giving you a chance to double-dip on low prices and free miles! you can sign up here!
Copa Airlines, the Latin-American carrier based in Panama, has a similar offer that’s even easier to achieve: You can earn 1,000 miles just for signing up and providing some information. You earn an additional 500 miles after your first flight – including other StarAlliance flights! StarAlliance is the largest airline alliance in the world, including United, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways and Lufthansa, making it easy to qualify! The bonus offered has varied over time and been as high as 2,000 miles for signing up. The current offer is available here!
