Deal Dispatch: Amsterdam for $99 from EastCoast, 50% off Lonely Planet

This week’s Deal Dispatch has more cheap flights from Boston and Washington DC to Europe on Wow Air and an even better discount of 50% on Lonely Planet Guides!

Flights: I have reported the super-cheap deals on Wow Air from Boston (BOS) and Washington D.C. (BWI) before (here). They are now also flying to Amsterdam (via Iceland) and again have flights starting at $99 one-way. Keep in mind that Wow is an ultra-low-cost-carrier that charges for seats, meals and luggage, so make sure that the full fare is still a good deal for you. You can find all their deals, including London, Paris and Berlin, here. If you have never been to Europe, there is no more excuse – it doesn’t get cheaper than this!

Hotels: If you do book that cheap flight to Europe, you can save on hotels with Starwood right now: They offer a pay 2, get three nights promotion when you pay with a Mastercard – that’s 33% off!. I checked their rates for a few hotels this summer/fall and it is a discount of their “flexible rate”, so in some case it is a real 33% off, in other places it’s just a little cheaper than other advanced booking discounts, so make sure to check their “best available rate” as well! You can (window-) shop here!

Travel Guides: Have you been procrastinating the purchase of a guidebook for your next, big adventure? For once, your procrastination is paying off – after last weeks 30% off, Lonely Planet has an even better 50% off right now – but be quick, it ends Sunday! Use the code SECRET50 at checkout and start shopping here!
