Accor still offers the best hotel promotions!

I recently reported on another Accor hotel promotion (here) – stay three times and get points worth EUR160! Of course I had to try and fit that into my ASEAN Explorer trip, courtesy of the AirAsia passI managed to book three inexpensive stays during my trip and just received, after some follow up, the final bonus points!

I staid at the following hotels:

– ibis styles Kuala Lumpur (review here): 1 night, $50.12

– ibis Bangkok nana (review here): 1 night, $43.56

– all seasons Legian (Bali) (review here): 2 nights, total $69.72

My total room charges were $163.40 – that’s less than the bonus of 8,000 points, worth EUR160, making this stay essentially free or giving me a total 50% of this and the future stay!

It did take a follow up to get the bonus to post properly: I did sign up for the triple-points promotion Accor launched immediately after this and ended up staying at the Mercure Ko Samui (review here) before two of the bookings above. That was too much for Accor’s IT systems and they credited triple miles (instead of the much higher bonus of 3,000 and 4,000 points). My initial message to ask for the missing points was rejected with a standard copy-and-past message. I followed up and remained firm, resulting in an escalation and a positive response about a week later!.

Lessons learned, Accor is running strong promotions worth following, don’t trust points posting correctly and be resolute in your follow-up and don’t take a negative response as the final answer, if you are sure you are right.

I will keep posting these promotions and hope you will be able to take advantage of them!
