NH Hotel Poznan Review: Great Value in the old town!

The NH Poznan offers warm and stylish rooms in the old town, with nice amenities like a gym, wellness and restaurant, all at very good prices and with professional service. It’s the closest and least expensive major hotel to the old town and that makes it a good deal to explore Poznan’s beautiful old town at a very reasonable budget.

Location: I chose the NH Hotel Poznan for it’s location in walking distance to both the train station and the old town, both taking a 10-15 minute stroll. I arrived and left Poznan by train, making the proximity to the central train station convenient. And I explored the old town of Poznan and it’s many sights on foot. This also puts you close to many restaurants, bars and shops in downtown, so you’ll be able to find anything you need within a few minutes.
Unfortunately, during my stay there was a massive construction on the street in front of the hotel. The whole street was torn up and being transformed. It’s a huge project that’ll take a while. I had a room to the back and there was no noise impact, but you can’t reach the hotel by car, so there is at least a short walk required with your luggage.

Service: All my interactions with staff at the NH Poznan were professional and short, if not very friendly. I was welcomed at check-in and got my keys and all the information I needed about the hotel and town from the staff. Both check-in and check-out took a little extra time, as the staff was struggling with a new IT system. I’d expect those teething problems to be gone by the time you read this. Housekeeping did a thorough job each day, leaving the room clean and all towels and amenities refreshed. I appreciated that they quickly made the room when I requested it upon leaving in the morning!

Room: I had booked a standard room and that’s what I got. My King Room had nice, dark hardwood floors and grey-ish walls. The dark wood furniture added to the warm feeling of the room, as did the deep red headboard and bed throw. Large windows provided enough day light. In addition to the comfortable bed, you get a padded chair by the window and a large desk with chair to work, as well as coffee/tea facilities and a TV. There is a large wardrobe near the door with a safe.

The bathroom stretched across the whole room length, making it fairly spacious and it has it’s own window. There is a large vanity near the door, a toilet in the center and a shower over a deep soaking tub with a partial glass wall and a towel heater (!) by the window. The towels and bathroom amenities were of good quality and everything was very clean and in working order!

Restaurant & Amenities: The NH Poznan has an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as 24h room service, but I didn’t try it out and went out in town each day.
The hotel offers a small gym, with limited cardio and weight equipment for a basic workout. After your workout or exploration of town, you can relax in the wellness area with sauna and steam.

Value & Rewards: At an average rate of only $44/night for my stay, booked with two different promotions,  the NH Poznan was great value. Even at non-promotional rates of around $55-60, I’d consider the NH Poznan good value.
My points in the NH Rewards program didn’t post automatically and were only posted for parts of the stay after making a points claim with customer service. The NH Rewards program has its quirks, so it’s not worth the effort unless you stay at their hotels frequently.

Bottomline: The NH Hotel offers warm and comfy rooms in walking distance of the old town with professional service and good amenities like the restaurant, gym and wellness. I found it to be very good value and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, despite the construction outside! You can find the current prices for your dates here!
