Earn Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus miles with profile update and grab

Thai Airways is one of my favorite airlines, offering outstanding service and the world’s best Economy Class! Their rewards program Royal Orchid Plus offers some good value, but I don’t fly often enough to accrue lots of miles. Currently, Thai Airways offers 500 bonus miles by updating your profile. They also added the option to convert grab rewards points to Royal Orchid Plus miles, giving you a second option to top up your account!

Thai Airways, like Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific, expires all miles after three years, regardless of activity, making it a struggle to earn enough miles for a free flight, unless you live in Thailand.
So, I’m glad there are some options to stock up on Thai’s Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) miles to get closer to that award: Between now and October 31, 2018, you can earn 500 bonus miles by updating your ROP profile. It only takes a few minutes to earn a small boost to your miles stash.

Thai Airways also added the South East Asian ride hailing company grab to their list of partners: You can now convert grab rewards points to ROP miles, starting at only 1,600 grab points for 100 ROP miles. That’s not a lot, but easily earned and every little bit helps!

Lastly, don’t forget that you can convert Citibank ThankYou points, as well as local point currency like Citi PremierMiles to Thai Airways ROP miles. With so many award devaluations, it’s always good to have choices: Currently, the best StarAlliance option for a business class award ticket between Europe and Asia is Thai Airways, charging significantly less than United or Singapore Airlines

If you are not a Royal Orchid Plus member yet, but are planning a trip with Thai Airways soon, you can earn 2,500 miles just for signing up to the program. If you update your profile by the end of October, you’ll earn a total of 3,000 bonus miles on top of your miles for the first flight! You can sign up or update your Thai Royal Orchid Plus profile here
