Fantastic Foto Friday: Mellow Mekong River Cruise – Luang Prabang, Laos

Luang Prabang is one of the most relaxed towns I’ve ever visited. Located on the confluence of two rivers, dotted with temples and inhabited by friendly, all the things that make for a relaxing stay. And if even this quaint town is too much – don’t worry, a boat trip on the Mekong river to visit local villages and a cave full of buddha statues are about as mellow as can be! All you have to do is enjoy the scenery and lunch!

Luang Prabang is one of the most serene places I have been to and watching the alms giving ceremony one of my most humbling experiences: The monks of the temples in Luang Prabang receive food every morning at sunrise from the villagers and one of the young monks was sharing what we was giving with a street kid how had nothing – while I was taking photos with a digital camera probably worth enough to feed a whole lot of them…

Fantastic Foto Friday: Sunset over the Mekong in Luang Prabang, Laos

Luang Prabang is one of the most peaceful and relaxing towns I know and my favorite “activity” is to watch the sunset over the majestic Mekong River from one of the countless restaurants and bars overlooking the river! Or, for a slightly better view (but shared with a lot more people), head up to Phuxi Mountain!
