Fantastic Foto Friday – Angry Elephant in Hwange National Park Zimbabwe, Africa

angryelephant-rjdezember-wm

A picture says more than 1,000 words – and it is the most evident with wildlife photos: Nothing can capture the feeling of an angry elephant or a lion about to charge her prey like a photo.
Robin J. Dezember is the first guest photographer on Fantastic Foto Friday and his photography captures nature and wildlife in an amazing fashion, and his photo books are captivating.
This photo was taken in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe as part of a tour of Southern Africa – and if you have seen elephants in the wild, you’ll know how real this photo is!

If you want to see (and download) more of Robin’s photos, you can check them out on Robin’s Photography site – it’s worth the visit, you can have a virtual safari!

FantasticFotoFriday: Kruger National Park – Do-it-yourself Safari!

095 SAF Lion I have been to a number of wild life destinations and on safaris – but nothing felt as up-close and personal as driving around Kruger National Park in South Africa in my own car, with the window rolled down, discovering a pride of lion, with one of them walking past my car in arms reach – fascinating and unforgettable!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Okavango Delta – a River disappearing in the Desert!

CapeToVicFalls - 92

The Okavango Delta is a phenomenal experience: The huge river just fizzles out into the desert, leaving behind a stunning landscape and amazing wildlife to explore. I was fortunate to see it from the air – before exploring it in a tiny dugout canoe. I will never forget those sights…

Fantastic Foto Friday: Chobe National Park, Botswana!

Chobe ElephantCrossing

Wildlife in Africa is amazing in many of the national parks. What makes Chobe National Park in Botswana so special is its location along the river. Being able to explore the park not only by jeep, but also by boat, provided us with unique sights, like this huge elephant swimming through the river, a feat that is hard to believe and I’d never seen before!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Etosha, Namibia – amazing wildlife watching around watering holes!

C2VF Etosha Water Hole

Etosha National Park in Namibia offers some amazing wildlife watching, without driving around in safari jeeps. Secure a strategic spot at a water hole, relax and wait for a steady stream of wildlife coming to the water – a true once-in-a-lifetime experience!
I visited Etosha National Park as part of my Cape Town to Victoria Falls Adventure and stayed at the amazing Okaukuejo Camp – check out the stories for some inspiration to see the stunning nature and wildlife of Southern Africa!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Pyramids, Egypt

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

When I saw the Pyramids for the first time, stark against the sky, with people appearing as tiny as ants in front of them, I was in awe how human beings could have possibly built a monument of this size more than 3,000 years ago! This photo shows the Chephren pyramid outside Cairo!
