Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Sabah, Northern Borneo, and a busy city with a population of around 500,000 people. And while most people us it as their base to explore the Orang Utans at Sepilok or the wildlife in the Danum Valley preservation area, you also can have the long, sandy beach of Tanjung Aru almost to yourself – a great place to relax after hiking Mt Kinabalu or exciting wildlife watching!
