Riga, the capital of Latvia, is steeped in history, it’s easy to explore the old town on foot, you can discover it’s Art Noveaux buildings or learn about modern history! And you can have great food like at Domini Canes while staying at nice hotels like the Radisson Blu Ridzene or Radisson Blu Daugava and it’s inexpensive when compared to other European capitals.

I explored the Baltic States on my Baltic Explorer trip and Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, was such a wonderful surprise. The old town had been lovingly restored with the towering walls and castle, churches and cobblestone streets.
