Fantastic Foto Friday: Safe, sunny, sandy: Nha Trang Beach, Vietnam

Nha Trang Beach & Boardwalk

Nha Trang in South Central Vietnam is blessed with endless beaches. You can walk for miles along the boardwalk or sandy shore and enjoy the view out over the warm see. There are trees and grass behind it, so you can rest in the shade. And Vietnam has done exceptionally well during the Coronavirus pandemic, making it a safe choice for post-CoVid travel!
Check out my Destination Guide Nha Trang to plan your own beach getaway.

Fantastic Foto Friday: Melaka, Malaysia, Riverwalk

Melaka Riverwalk

Melaka is a fun, little city in Malaysia, easy to reach for a weekend getaway from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. There is a lot of history to see, but my favorite spot is the riverwalk. It’s well done and lined by little restaurants and bars, making it a great spot for a walk or to hang out for happy hour as the evening cools!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Fish River Canyon, Namibia

Nature can be truly awe-inspiring, especially when you are faced with a place so overwhelming, both in its size as its beauty as Fish River Canyon. It’s second in size only to the Grand Canyon and we were really amazed on our visit as part of the Cape Town to Victoria Falls adventure! Natural wonders like this can give you some perspective, just as helpful in good times as in bad times!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Pattaya Beach, Thailand

The (in)famous Pattaya, is the closest beach getaway from Bangkok. You’ll get all the sand, sun, warm waters and gorgeous sunsets you’d expect from a tropical beach, and all at a budget price. And while the beach in Pattaya itself can be so crowded with chairs that you can barely see it, Jomtien to the South has beautiful beach with fewer vendors, so you can just throw down your towel and stick your toes in the soft, white sand!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Modern Taipei

Taipei is a fun city – open and progressive, more so than most cities in Asia.one of the most open and progressive cities in Asia. And Taipei 101 is the icon of that modern city, the highest building in Asia at its opening, designed after the shape of bamboo! There is a lot to see in the city and it’s worth exploring!

Fantastic Foto Friday: Singapore Aquarium

I love to scuba dive. But sometimes, a visit to the aquarium is the next-best thing. Especially, if it is as good as the SEA Aquarium on Sentosa Island, Singapore. From giant eels like in this pictures, to scary sharks and huge, gentle manta’s there is lots to see and something to learn, too. Despite having seen lots of sharks in the open sea, I only learned at the aquarium how to distinguish male and female sharks!

Cafe John – Great service and food, upscale touches in Jomtien, Thailand

Pattaya and it’s Southern neighbor Jomtien Beach are inexpensive destinations and outside high-end hotel restaurants, most restaurants are pretty basic, too. Cafe John in Jomtien is a nice exception offering  great food, friendly service and a nice ambiance, still at very good prices. If you are looking for a dinner without bare tables and paper napkins, check out my review … Continue reading
